Frequently asked questions
There are several reasons why tap water may taste unpleasant. One is water hardness, which is determined by the amount of dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium – the higher their concentration, the harder the water.
Chlorine also directly affects the taste of water. Other causes may include excess calcium or potassium.
Our filters remove these substances, so tap water is clean, clear, and pleasant-tasting.
The replacement filter is made from activated carbon – an organic material that can support microorganism growth. Over time, this can lead to bacteria multiplying behind the filter and contaminating the water.
This is normal for activated-carbon filters, regardless of the number of people in the household or whether the filter is used infrequently.
